SOUTH WOLD PONY CLUB CROSS COUNTRY

MORE than 400 entries and perfect spring weather resulted in a great day for South Wold North Pony Club’s annual Cross Country event.

Held at Withcall, near Louth, the day saw a range of classes for horses and ponies, from pre-novice pairs to the open individual. There were good entries in all sections, and particularly busy was the novice horse, with more than 70 combinations starting. Crowds had some great viewing opportunities across the valley as the riders negotiated the course, which included a water complex and the now famous Withcall leap – a jump across a large water-filled ditch. Course designer Robbie Jebb had built a testing but enjoyable run of fences for all levels of ability and age.

The club thanked those who supported the day and the Drew family for the use of the land.
